What is a Gambit?
A gambit (from ancient Italian gambetto, the act of tipping someone with the leg to make him fall) is a chess opening in which a player sacrifices material with the aim of achieving a subsequent positional advantage. The word "gambit" was originally applied to chess openings in 1561, where Gambits are described as being "offered" to an opponent.
Similarly, when you play crypto games, you are willing to sacrifice money (or other assets), with the intention to get a bigger reward.
Since we are building a sports gaming platform for the crypto world, this analogy is what gave birth to our name: Gambit.
